Quick Easy Glamourous Eye Makeup: How To Get Metallic Smoky Eyes

Sultry bedroom eyes are glamorous. Smoky eye makeup in dark shades has been the sexy go-to look for a while.  Dark eye makeup is not easy to apply and can end up looking sooty or muddy.  The new trend in smoky glamorous eye makeup is brighter, hotter and much easier to apply.

Forget using dark matte eye shadows. Glimmering shades flattering your eyes and skin to create the new metallic smoky eye.  This eye makeup trend is hot for summer and fall 2010 and I think will be around long after. It is a strong goddess look will have you looking fabulous from sunlight to candlelight.

The Metallic Smoky Eye Look:

Rachel Blison looks lovely in with smoky eyes in metallic golds. This fresh look is sexy and works day or night.
Jessica Alba flatters her dark brown eyes with metallic brown and peach eye makeup. The brown eye shadow under her lower lashes creates a more dramatic look.

Glimmering gold metallic shades glow beautifully in this look. The eye shadow is blended seamlessly.
Rhianna in the July 2010 edition of Elle wears a dark metallic smokey eye.

How To Apply Metallic Smoky Eyes:

Choose eye shadows that flatter your eye color. If you have flecks in your eyes a matching shade is perfect.  Blue eyes use pinks with golden undertones, brown and hazel use metallic golds and browns, and black and green eyes use metallic plum or violet shades.

Apply the darkest metallic eyeshadow all over the eye lid and blend it upward and outward toward the brow bone.  Apply the eyeshadow with a brush wet or dry. Wet application will give you more control with the color as you paint it on. Blend upward with a clean damp brush or your finger.Use a lighter metallic shade to highlight your brow bone. Apply this color with a brush wet or dry. Blend the two metallic eye shadows together well with a clean damp brush or your finger.

A spark of glimmer under your bottom lashes finishes the look. You can use metallic close to your skin tone for a lighter look or get dramatic with the darker shade on your lid. Apply with a brush wet or dry. Make a line under your bottom lashes and soften the line with a clean damp brush or your finger.

A touch the lighter metallic shade on the inner corner of each eye is a lovely option. This is easy to do and adds a professional makeup artist touch to your look.

Apply several coats of mascara. Use a wet q-tip to remove any mascara on your skin and touch up your eyeshadow.
